Our Lady of the Lakes Child Care

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Catholic Education,

 

We regret to inform you that at their meeting on August 25th, the Our Lady of the Lakes Parish Council voted to recommend to the co-pastors to close the Child Care Center (CCC). The CCC will officially close the day after all current families are able to secure care placement for their child(ren) at another facility, but no later than September 30, 2011. The CCC has been financially challenged during the previous year due to lower enrollment.  During this time, the Parish has provided assistance to support this valuable service to our community. The Parish Council has decided it can no longer support these financial losses.

 

An ‘Extended Day’ (After School) program has being reviewed at this time also. The Parish Council was clear that any such program must be financially self sustaining as the parish can no longer underwrite additional financial strain. The School Committee recognizes a safe, learning environment for our students after normal school hours is an important ministry.  However, after a long and in depth meeting at which various alternatives were considered the School Committee has decided it can not come up with a program that would satisfy the directive issued by the Parish Council.

 

We are grateful to those families who have used our CCC since its inception. We wish we could be giving you better news. You will remain in our prayers and we encourage you to consider Our Lady’s School for the future educational needs of your child(ren).
